Ok, so I have done quite a bit of research on here and other places on the subject of the wiring for ej20g heads and ej22t block. All I have been able to determine is that the 20g is plug and play.

So my questions are
-Can someone confirm this, if there are any issues, what are they (I remember reading about the 20g having 4 wires for soemthing as opposed to 2 on the 22t heads).
-If i am looking for some decent power (300 wheel +) should i stick with the 22t ecu (with EM), or is it possible to upgrade to a 20g ecu (with EM).
-What EM would be best for OBDI, it seems that Utec/Dtec are a pretty decent choice, can anyone give me the tumbs up or thumbs down on this EM, or should I go with something else.

Like I said, I searched, but could not find anything conclusive. So I would like some confirmation.

The main electrical difference between Ej22t and Ej20g is the former is wasted spark (coil pack) and the latter is coil on plug.

Converting to Ej20g heads also means an Ej20g intake manifold. The easiest way to do this is to install the Ej22t intake manifold harness onto the Ej20g setup. Fabricate a bracket for the coil pack, extend the IAC wires to reach and then plug it all back in w/the Ej22t ECU.

I can't comment about how much HP this is good/safe for. I would guess that with a AFC and ITC it should be good for at least 300HP. You can also add 2 additional ignition channels and convert to Ej20g spec later if you choose. This opens up any proven Ej20g tuning technique including a Power FC.

-I know the ej20g was used in a number of different models, would the different versions have any effect of the wiring. I would assume not.

-What would be the benefit of changing to the coil and plug setup? I would probably go for coil pack, unless there is something far superior about the other.

-What exactly are the sensor that are on the cylinder heads. I know the camshaft sensor but what else?

Ill have to do some more research but if anyone would want to give me a quick summary that would be great.

For engine wiring, no changes.

For chassis wiring, not much. WRX Ej20gs had a secondary cooling fan while Legacy Ej20gs had an intercooler pump. USDM turbos don't even have a pin in that location, so no problem.

I don't see any big difference between wasted spark and Coil on plug until your running enough boost to suppress a spark. Early Subaru COP are know to fail anyways. Many high HP cars overseas have switched to 4 remotely mounted coils to replace Subarus factory COP coils.

The only actual sensor on the head itself is the Cam sensor. Ej20g and Ej22t actually use compatable sensors in this regard.
