my right side head gasket is leaking oil, and was wondering how hard it is to replace it, or if i have to remove the motor?
could i try sealing the gasket from the out side with gasket sealer?

Is it the head or the valve cover?
Head removal can be done without removing the engine from the car.
If it's just oil, yes, a sealer might do the job.

If your HEAD GASKET was leaking oil, your car probably would not run. So odds are, its your VALVE COVER. Big difference. Not yelling at you, just being clear.
The valve cover has 6 bolts holding it on. You can take these out, pop off the valve cover, clean everthing up (it takes awhile for the oil to stop draining out), and then install the valve cover back on with......... 1 - new valve cover gasket and new bolt grommets, or 2 - old gasket and grommets with sililcone sealent.... Your choice.
