would it be possible when installing an i/c w/ vf11 to just cut the turbo outlet on an angle so that the hose points down at a 90, i dont know just a thought

I don't think you would have enough to clamp to...plus it is one of those "no turning back" mods

Yeah. There wouldn't be a sufficient amount of room to clamp onto. Just my $0.02

i cut the charge pipe with my saab setup and it worked great. if you cut it in the right place it gives you the perfect amount of room to clamp and the perfect angle to mate to the piping (2.25''). i had an extra charge pipe though, so it wasn't a no turning back thing.

depends on the intercooler you have and what Y pipe you're using

now if you were to cut it and then weld a straight piece of pipe to it then you could probably use the stock y pipe for wrx ic install, maybe, i might try this
is it possible to be the td04 in without modding your cpu?
thanks

would the car still run properly if i put the td04 in and did nothing to the cpu, would there be any side effects at all?
thanks

asc up knows that, im not sure.
as kong as you dont go above fuel cut with it and you were cautious i bet you would be ok.
your not at an EM stage yet so i think you would be fine,
anyone else?

You'll be fine running the TD-04. You'll probably want to intercool it at the same time, though.
It's really not much better than the VF-11. The only thing I noticed about it is that it holds higher boost all the way to redline. Plus it's about 4 years old, instead of my stock 17 year old VF-11. Lol.

i have an intercooler that i was going to put in but i was under the impression that my td04 swap would require e.m. so i was going to do it all at the same time, but if i dont need to save up for a perfect power yet then i will put this stuff in as soon as i find a downpipe, thanks

You'll be fine as long as you don't run more than about 14PSI, because that's when your injectors will max out.

in the vf11 or td04?

Either. They're basically the same turbo. The TD04 is just newer.

i was thinking of running about 12 psi, it's still a daily driver and i'm looking for around 220-230 chp, running 12, is that pushing for fuel cut?

Without a fuel cut defender, yes. If you get any spikes above 12.75 PSI for more than 3 seconds you'll hit fuel cut.

thanks, now i just need to find a good downpipe to bolt up to the td04 that has the stock donut size fitting on the other end, my custom exhaust is about 2 3/4", i wanted 3" but i got it for free from a guy at work that had it on his wrx and it's made of titanium.
any suggestions on the downpipe
thanks
