More sunroof questions...

Hi there. I finally got around to removing my headliner and trying to troubleshoot why my sunroof isn't working. I found the little hexkey-manual opening thing, and got the sunroof open a little bit...

How hard should it be to open with a normal allen wrench? I had to work pretty damn hard to open it at all.

Shortly after I had it opened a bit, I tried to use the buttons, and they worked....I could move it back and forth, up and down... until I had it all the way back, then it stopped working. After checking all the connectors I could find, I tried it again, and nothing. By this time I had closed it completely with the hex key.

I decided to try pulling the motor from its position and trying to operate it with the buttons. No luck. It doesn't move at all. It's still hard to turn the manual adjust thing, even when the motor is not attached to anything. I wish I had a multimeter to check the electrical parts.

Anybody have any ideas? I hope I'm not looking at a dead sunroof motor. Thanks.

I randomly try opening the sunroof every once in a while when I start the car... and on a night when it had snowed and frozen, it worked. But then the next morning when it had been sunny, it didn't. I'm so confused.

Is the relay clicking? It's up in there somewhere, if the relay does not fire, no motor. Check the plug & contacts for corrosion, and pull the relay and apply 12v to the actuator (usually the smaller contacts), if no click, replace it.

The sunroof is working more often now, but then again, I'm trying it more often as well. It stops working if I use it too much at once, but if all I want to do is put it up/open, it's fine.

As soon as I have a chance, I'll take a real good look at the relay and stuff. How do you suggest I put 12v through the actuator?
