Idle sky rocket after a hard run...

So, after a semi-hard freeway run the idle launches itself up to about 3k.

Like, if I push in the clutch the rpm goes up to about 3-3.25k

Its kind of annoying. Any thoughts? Is the IAC valve sticking or something?

clutch switch, idle switch, or possibly a bad TPS?

Do you have a way of running Vikash's scan tool or even teh VWRX one?

Not really...

I could try and replace the TPS with the one off my old engine... I suppose...

Ya know... after I blip the throttle it goes back down to normal...

I'll try the tps

If you replace it you will probably need a digital multi meter to set it properly.

Safer to swap the whole throtlebody.

Hrms... Okay... I suppose I could do that... How hard would that be?

Just change the entire throttlebody...

Check for vacuum leaks too!

I had enough of those!!!

Re-did a ton of vac lines to fix some...

There was one other issue... when I was up in the upper rpms in 4th gear it would cut like fuel cut then continue up the rev range.

Me redoing the coffee cup mod fixed that though... it had some thing to with it because it went away after that.

Gotcha... I re-did it with brass fittings and lots of JB Weld and black paint to fix it.

If you blip it and it comes back its most likely the IAC valve. My car did that and sometimes low idle. Sprayed throttle body cleaner which was made for IAC valves as well (ones that don't say that are bad) or wd40 works as well.

FIXED!

So after spraying the SHIT out of the IAC Valve... It didnt do a damn thing

So I replaced the throttle body...

Whalah! All is well now... and runs quite nicely I might add!

Quite possibly...also, your throttlebody could have been getting stuck somehow

The throttlebody seemed fine... It seemed to flip back to normal just fine...

Did your TB have the adjustment screw for the air bypass on the top of it?
