Clutches??

What would you guys suggest for a semi-daily driveable stage 3 clutch kit? (300+ HP, 400+ TQ?)
Not sure about going with a six puck, or disc.
What brand? Where would I find one at a decent price?

Six puck will hold power great, but are a total bear to drive daily.
I'd recommend a good quality organic disc and a heavy plate.

From what I gather, Exedy and ACT make some quality stuff...
Clutchnet.com sells a carbon fiber stage 2 disc that would probably be a great match for a heavier pressure plate.
I have a Spec in my Legacy...well just the pressure plate and flywheel, because the kevlar disc didn't hold up well (do not put kevlar in high hp AWD cars!!)...but the pressure plate is good...just very stiff...
You could also try running a 6 puck with a stock pressure plate, but it will still be very grabby, and coupled with a light flywheel, makes for a very difficult and tiring car to drive...and murders trannies.

Get a stage 2 ACT clutch.
There has to be one weak link in the system. Usually your tires are upgraded and you probably aren't making enough torque to twist axles so the choice comes down to either clutch or gear teeth.

I have an Exedy Stage 2 clutch kit. I love it. It is pretty grabby, but you get used to it after awhile.

ACT Heavy Duty PP FTW!
I had one on mine with a stock sprung disc and it was MUCH better of a feel. Not a leg killer either. Part # was SB012, which strangely enough is the same for 02-05 WRX and the Saabaru despite people saying the clutches are different. Rated up to 480ft/lbs i believe.
If your interested i may be willing to part with my ACT PP since i just put in an 06 gearbox with a stupid push style clutch. Only ~10-15k on it.

I have the Exedy Hyper Single and it is a bit tricky day to day. It is grabby as hell, but the pedal is lighter than a stock STi clutch. The 9lb flywheel doesn't help either. I probably kill it a few times a week.

I drive a 4 puck sprung with a lightweight flywheel daily.
trust me, all it takes is practice. it was a bitch to master but now I can feather it just right (and with minimal duration) and get relatively smooth engagements.
that's not to say I can't go for a drive without getting chatter. sometimes I start off and get a lot of chatter, or if I'm stuck in traffic I'll pick the wrong gear (4th instead of 2nd at 20mph) rev up and shake my dash loose (well, not that bad, but lots of chatter)
clutch is holding up well. transmission is doing fine (it's been about 12k miles)
