Not big on the gauges, but I love the suede. That's the plan with the Cessna-car and I always wanted to do that to the wagon's headliner, but in dark blue. That and I need to find diamond-pattern vinyl sheet like the 240Zs had (the restoration kits are all pre-cut), diamond alcantara would be nice for the seats. I think Pagani has that. It's seems to be a current fad (seen it with high-end women's bags and diamond fabric for coats), but I've planned on using it on a project car since I owned the Datsun (1992).

well i know if you know how to sew you could put a diamond pattern on it. i am thinking about doing the door panels in a black vinyl know

The diamonds are an embossed pattern and I only have rudimentary sewing skills. I think the alcantara could be diamond-sewn, but I'm not sure if they'd hold up as seats. I mainly want it for the big sections that will be vinyl-covered.

All I can say is .... give it a try and post up the after shots. Hard to give you a opinion without seeing it all done and on the car.
