Hey guys-
I've got a little problem with my 93 turbo sedan's sunroof: When it rains a lot, water pools at the two front corners and leaks somewhere, dripping on my and my passenger's heads. I had been ignoring the problem, as I had a carport (and before that a garage), but I've just moved and don't have either at the moment. I have lifted up the gasket in that area, pumping it full of grease with the handy Dualco grease gun, but that doesn't seem to be a permanent fix. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what did you do (ideally at little or no cost)? My interior is in beautiful shape, and I'd hate to have water stains or mildew. Thanks!

have you checked the drain lines. there are four, one in each corner of the roof. if they are plugged the water builds up and comes in.

I had this problem with my "90 Legacy LS Wagon. I bought the car used
on a nice sunny day and didn't discover the leak until the first
rainstorm, by which time the rat-bastard seller had left the country.
It was a great car otherwise and I put 100K on it. Anyway, I tried
everything short of taking the whole mechanism out. It seemed to help a
bit when I airblasted the drain holes out- they're in the back of the
sunroof ledge, but I never stopped that damn leak! In the end I just
used to put the newspaper on the seat to sop up the water. I now have a
'93 Turbo Wagon and the first thing I did was make the previous owner
swear on a stack of bibles that the sunroof was 100% waterproof. So far
so good.

there are four drain holes, 2 at the rear and 2 forward.

The two forward drain pipes can be accessed by removing the blackish
plastic trim in the front two wheel wells. The rear ones are in the
trunk (or whatever the wagon folk call that area ) behind the rear
wheels, and behind all trim, next to the external sheet metal. I
have blown compressed air through these with little to no success.
What does seem to help is with the sunroof in the forward and down
position, very quickly tap the UP button so that the back edge of the
glass raises just slightly, barely enough to see. Worked okay for
me, give it a try.
