Strut Mounts, necessary to replace?

I'm replacing my struts in the next couple weeks, the fronts first, and I'm wondering if its necessary to replace the strut mounts when i do this? I see they are quite spendy, are they known to go bad or need replacing?
Some cars they last forever, some not so, my old audi 90Q would eat them up and make all kinds of noises, but they were dirt cheap, not $70 like these ones!
Necessary to replace? Yay or Nay?
Thanks!

If it's a budget issue, I'd say no, the old ones will work fine... at least for a while, probably for ever. On the other hand, you will have the struts out and apart, half the work is done already... so if you can swing it, throw new ones in there. Look into Group-N mounts if you want to firm up the ride a little, they are no more expensive or even cheaper than stockers and take some of the wiggle out of the suspension.

thanks, not necessarily looking to firm up the ride, trying to keep this car as stock as possible (lord knows i've had my share of modding my other cars), i typically get my oem parts from autohauaz.com, do you have any other sources where i could possibly get them for a better price? Or a oem-knock off for slightly less? $70 seems a bit ridiculous for strut mounts. If i can't find a better price i may just stick with the stock ones.
