how do i remove a mint windshield?

my front windsheild is badly cracked. I want one from the wreckers, but I have no Idea how to remove it. Or if it is possible?

You need to break the bead of glue around the windshield someone told me. I guess get a wire poke a hole with a knife, then put the wire in and carefully go around the windshield. I was definitely considering actually going out and doing it. At this point I plan on leaving it though.

The piano-wire method can be difficult when you are trying to save the glass.
If you really want to get a windshield out of a car, go get yourself the knife for doing that. You can get them for under $30, and they are designed for specifically doing that. Like the one here:

What is the boneyard going to charge you for it? I ask because you can get a brand new one for about $150. Also, if you are going to cut it out, I suggest practicing on a car there that already has a broken windshield before you go nuts on the good one. It can be easy to slip and wreck it.

Yeah, it's a heavy, awkward thing as well. Even uncracked, it might be sandblasted.

The boneyard will want some money, the knife costs money.
Another $75, I can get a new one.
