ok so here's the deal i have a 1990 legacy mt 4wd completly stock with the 2.2. it has 250,000mi on it and still going. lately however it has had this idle fluctuation where it will drop to 200 than come back to like 700 and its intermitent. but this morning i was getting onto a clover leaf interstate exchange after going 75 for like 10 miles and it died....so i went another couple miles and it did it again but only when i would put the clutch in.... also when i parked and let it idle it would be smooth than like every 30 seconds it would just drop down and almost stall out?? I did have the same issue awhile back but without the dying part and i cleaned the Idle control valve and it fixed it...do i just need a new Idle control valve.or IAC i beleive is what its called? or is it somthing else.

sorry about the long post
Thanks for any help
Ben

Maybe you installed the timing belt incorrectly? But as mentioned it is a non interference motor.
