removing outside door trim

do the trim pieces on the outside of the doors just clip on and off? i was wanting to paint over the chomeness cause i just dont like it that much. anyone have any steps on how to go about doing this?

The "only" way to get those clips off without breaking them is from inside. Even then you can barely reach some with a pick tool. Try and do what you can with them on the car.
Some people have just cleaned the chrome strip really well and used black electrical tape. I guess it sticks pretty well but I've never tried it myself.

i was thinkin just clean them, then spray some primer on there then black them out

I actually think that's the worst feature on these cars. Hideous plastic moulding around the entire car. Then the rear windows and those ugly legacy badges on the side. Other than that though, it's a nice car.

I think the entire black trim mounts to the door from screws/bolts from the inside. If you remove the door panel, you can see things.

2 small capped nuts at front and back, with clips in between. Gotta take the door card off to compress the inside clips and get the trim off.

i agree with the trim around the car, but i happen to like the legacy badges
