You might be lucky enough to get them new off eBay. I bought a complete set of FSMs brand-new for my XT (correct year and everything) on eBay for I think $80.
If you don't get that lucky, you'll have to get them from a dealer. Which one is your choice, but I compiled a list of FSM part numbers
here.
That was a few years ago, so I dunno if they're all still available.

Thank you. That helps a lot. If only I'd of known to abbreviate factory service manual in my search. (fsm)

There's a set on ebay right now for like $80 or $100. I can't remember. I just bought the one that was like $90 that had all 6 books and the right hand drive one and it arrived today. I tried getting them to sell it to me for $80 shipped which was like $25 or $30 less than I ended up paying months later but they weren't having it. I'm coming close to tearing down a motor for the first time and I thought it might be nice to have those books to make sure I do it right.
I must say they are very nice. 100X better than Haynes and Chilton together. Besides, Haynes and Chilton list different specs and even have contradicting things written in their books. I believe Chilton said you cannot change the timing on a 98 chevy metro and Haynes says to change the timing just short some connector I could never find and turn the distributor.
Fuck haynes and chilton. I'm sick of them. I bought the FSM for my metro too. No more chilton and haynes. What a headache.

I agree. I hate Chilton/Haynes manuals.
I'm also into VW's and they have manuals by Bentley. Bentley makes some quality shit. All the info you need. Unfotunatly they don't make any Suby books.
I did find a set of FSM's on ebay. The guy want $94 bucks for them. Not terrible, but then he hits you with
$18.00 shipping!
It would be cheaper just to go to the dealer. (if they're still ava.)
We'll see what happens.........

I looked everywhere and they're even more expensive on other websites like amazon and alebris wanting like $50 a book for the six book set...that adds up pretty quickly to where you're paying $300 for books that are sub $100 on ebay. These are in good shape.

Ebay's the place. I got my set for the 1990 legacy for like $40.00 shipped. It was a steal. Granted it's missing info on the turbo side of things (since that wasn't until 91), but it's still VERY useful.
