hey, a buddy of mine offered me a deal that i am hesitant to pass up. i have a 93 subaru legacy l wagon, while my friend has an 02 wrx. he upgraded his suspension and is trying to move the stock shocks off his hands. will they fit onto my car? his offer was very reasonable, and it would be a fun job for myself. i'm pretty good with a wrench, i am just trying to find out if the job is even worth the effort. thanks

Yes. Just in the rear you need to use your original top hats. In the front if you are using wrx springs you will need impreza spring perches, only in the front.

Edited because of incorrect information

Disregard all information I previously stated. The two guys from Canada are 100% correct. Listen to what they say.

Good luck with the install

Also forgot to mention I have a 93 wagon L and put 02 wrx sedan struts on my car. All I needed to use original was the rear top hats, which is good if you have wrx sedan struts since they make the rear sit higher which in the end makes the car sit very nice.

subydaddy wrote:I'm not sure about the wagon but for a sedan you need 90-91 legacy rear top hats for it to work. The rear springs on my 92 sedan taper at the top and won't fit newer age top hats. You'll most likely only need to find a set of rear 90-91 legacy top hats to put on the rear of the 02 wrx suspension.

i beleive this info to be false.

92-94 springs should be non tapered

^ You are dead on my friend.

I deleted what I said earlier because it was incorrect. Thank you for clearing that up.

Sorry for thread jacking ... but.....

How how did this project work out??? Do you have pictures of before and after? Did you use just the wrx struts and stock springs? I've been searching for a suspension solution for my "bounce wagon" issues. I'd like the wagon to stay about the same height I don't want to lose any clearance........and this sounds very nice....

Look at pages 5-6

Has all the pics of the new struts. Used wrx struts and wrx springs from a sedan. Only thing I used that was original was the rear top hats, and you need a extra spacer in the rear.
