FS: Rear brake upgrades!

Hey guys,
Those who know me, know I worked with RB on developing the vented rotor BBK.
I am selling my Forester and getting an Outback, so I won't be able to use these anymore.
I have two kits for sale.
The first is a 290x18mm kit. It is complete less calipers. You use stock Legacy Turbo rear calipers. These are BRAND NEW.
They come with slotted rotors, Hawk HPS pads, and the brackets.
I would like $425 for the kit plus shipping.
The second kit is a set of brackets for the 290x18mm upgrade.
These come without rotors or pads, JUST Brackets.
These brackets DO need a little grinder love to work, but nothing serious or time consuming.
I said they were the 316 kit before, but they weren't. Lee has that kit. They are the 290x18mm kit.
$175 plus shipping for just the brackets. Lee has a set of rotors to go with these!!
I also have a 2005 Forester XT steering wheel with airbag for sale. $150 plus shipping
Help me mod my new Outback![/b]

These shouldn't need any help selling but...
As Phil said, I do have the 316mm kit and LOVE them. The rotors are high quality, have excellent wear properties and always have a nice bright shine to them. They're actually brighter than my fronts. The brackets are also high quality castings. The balance with a WRX fronts is spot on and braking is a dream. Put your foot down on the petal and you just stop.
I'm not sure about the grinding Phil is referencing on his 316mm brackets and assume they are specific to those actual brackets. Mine set was a direct replacement and took no work to get them on. My thread on them -
http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?t=37784 .
Enough of my shameless plug. But seriously, anyone wanting a real solid brake upgrade - either of these would be a wise decision.

The 316 kit needs grinding simply because it was a prototype piece to see if everything would actually work. It does, they just need a bit of work to be perfect.
The 290's are perfect and ready to bolt on.

I'm interested - refresh me on the 290 x 18 percent size difference from the stock SS set up?
Also to be clear on condition - New in box? Or low mileage? Approx?
Thanks!

NIB.
The % changes can be seen in the "so you want big rear brakes" thread. I'll find a link later.
I MIGHT not be selling these with Rotors. Without rotors, I'd like $300+shipping.

Thanks. Love to see that info when you have it...
On both of these what rotors would we have as options if you didn't sell with them?
Doesn't look like RB sells just the rotors out of their kits...do I have that right?
Thanks in advance,
AW

*raises hand*
I have a set of 290x18 rotors. Never used. Just sat in my garage and collected a very light surface rust on one surface. I got them in plans of doing a LGT rear setup... and then got the 316mm kit.
PM if you're interested. Though I will note, they are not as nice as RB rotors.

You could buy my brackets and pads, and Lee's rotors and be all set!

Thanks Lee, I'd want slotted - for the cool factor <grin>
RB says that size is "+1" but still not clear of percent larger over stock...

*snaps fingers* Damn. I though that would probably still be the case

.
Adam, here's all the numbers you could want to determine the differences of these brakes vs. stock -
http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic. ... c&start=75 . It's page 4 of Phil's "Big Budget Brakes" post that in the brake forum.

Interested in the 290x18 brackets shipped to philadelphia 19134. These accomodate the stock 91-94 Legacy Turbo caliper with the pin/bolt set up correct?

The 290x18mm kit WILL come with RB rotors.
Yes, these use the stock 91-94 T-Leg caliper.

Pics of the brackets.
You need to grind the corner smooth, and then smooth out the back of bracket where it mounts to the hub.
Cheers

bought the brackets for 290 x 18 directly from racing brake.

Which has nothing to do with my post, unless I am asking too much. If that's the case, I'll gladly lower the price.

Okay I was not mentioning what I paid for the brackets but since you asked. I paid $150.00 for the brackets and will be using the standard 290X18 rear rotors that cost me $100.00 new. So guess that is it.

How are these still in your possesion Phil? Are people not realizing what an upgrade this actually is?
Anybody running WRX fronts with stock rears really should look into this as it will bring your brake biasing back into a much more favorable condition.
