Just a thought that a friend of mine had concerning my hesitation/stumbling woos. I've got a lifter that isn't pumping up completely and has a tick to it. Could the knock sensor pick up this sound and think it is knock??? Thanks

The ECU is typically tuned to a certain low frequency to detect engine knock, and not other engine noise.
Chances are low that a collapsed lifter ticking could be triggering the ECU to think it's knock.

The knock sensor won't cause your problem, not without some much worse symptoms as well any way. Checked for trouble codes?

Yeah I did a day or two ago. I plugged the black connectors together and turning the key on. All I got was a blinking check engine light. That means there are no codes right??

Yes that is right. If you use the green plugs it puts it into a more sensitive mode where the first instance of a fault triggers a code... normally it takes a few instances of a fault to occur in a single drive to set a code. It could be worth going for a drive with the greens connected.

Alright, thanks. I'll give that a shot tomorrow.

Well, I took the knock sensor off the block and ziptied it to a hose above and grounded it to the body. The car runs much better now, still not as good as once felt though. Could this mean the knock sensor is bad???????
