ok, my lsd isn't an lsd any more it acts like an open diff. which is kinda annoying. i was wondering if any one had the procedure or cutaway pic lying around. i can tear the gears etc off no problem i am wondering what to expect after i pull the ring.

They are not servicable, no gears, etc. It's a sealed viscous coupling. You have to replace it.

Buy Jerry's clutch type one that he's got listed on pirates. They are far more durable. You'll need to switch it over to your 3.9 housing since it's currently mated to a 3.7 but that's not rocket science.

^ +1.

Someone also has been selling AP Suretrac's on ebay for a decent price compared to a new clutch-type.

Usually LSD is served on little papers or sugar cubes that melt in your mouth. Not a good idea to drive like this though! You might get over-excited and wear out your VLSD running from purple elephants.

Did anyone see that VLSD in the parts shed for $200?
