So i did kyb gr2 struts with tein 02 wrx wagon s tech springs and modded a rear strut bar from an 02 wrx, and ever since i did those two things i think ive rattled my rear window loose. thats all i can think of! ive had my car up 3 times a week on a lift checking things and everything suspension and stiffening wise is tight! someone told me it was prolly my rear window getting loose because the same thing happened to their whatever year blah blah blah and so and so car... so...... now what? anyone else having this issue driving you bonkers? reply! -WagonMafia

Doubt it's the window, but could be the tailgate. Also check for a loose spare tire, something fallen into the well, and that the jack is tight.

how is this for a crazy idea? Try grabbing the window and moving it with your hands. It should be pretty solid and should not be moving around in any direction.

Lol I love you Mike.
But yeah, IF your rear window is loose, you can 'easily' tighten it once you remove all the trim around it. When I put the stiffer suspension on my car, I definitely noticed a lot of creaks and groans that weren't there before. It's an older chassis with older interior bits so it's to be expected.

Have someone else drive around with you in the back and listen around for it.

It's a squeak, not a clunk? Sounds like normal aging.

Could it be the tire on your spare rubbing against metal?
You should just get someone to ride in the back a listen for it while you drive.

Put some light grease or something on the rubber seal around the lift gate and see if that helps with the squeak.

I've got a squeak too now coming from somewhere behind me on the drivers side. i'm not going to bother to look for it though. I'd just rather put a post here asking you all to speculate on where the sqeak might be coming from and if any of your answers sound good enough or feasable enough for me to check easily I will then make a decision to go check.
Thank you.
