Need some help!

I am in the process of throwing a '90 N/A chassis harness in my tw. So now i have a turbo engine harness, a split turbo chassis harness, and a complete N/A engine harness on a swap im doing.

So heres where my road block is. I have some wiring diagrams, but my goal is to take my '92 turbo chassis harness, thin it out, and install it in a '86 wagon with the N/A EJ22. Ill have to repin some things no doubt so the turbo chassis harness communicates with the N/A engine and engine harness.

I believe the major differences are in the ecu pins, but what about the years?

'90 Engine harness + '92 turbo chassis harness = run?

I'm pretty sure 91-94 ss harnesses where all the same. It's just a matter of where the turbo wires connect to on the ECU.

You said your thinning out the 92 harness and taking the turbo wires off it anyways, so wont you find out where the turbo wires go when your thinning it anyways? Because all your doing is adding the turbo wires correct?

Oh you will need the pin #7?5? That goes to the MAF. But you can just use your only MAF wiring and just run that wire out there. Same goes for the TPS. Expect I think you need to use the plug for them because I think the N/A TPS is different.

Correct me if I'm wrong it's been awhile since I did my swap. Also its dark or I would go out and verify for you on my car/parts motor.

Hope this helps.

You have to have the matching engine harness to work with the chassis harness. The plugs are different.

Check out this thread for specifics as to which years had which shape/number of engine harness plugs

EDIT: Just realized I never posted the thread.

I think maybe i explained it incorrectly.

My wagon shell now has a N/A 90 chassis harness behind the dash, fuse panel, etc.

Im swapping the heads/intake to a ej25d with harness and running a piggyback with EJ22t ecu.

Now, my '86 GL im swapping has the donor from my 90 wagon EJ22 N/A engine and matching engine harness.

i wanted to combine my 92 turbo dash/chassis fuse panel wiring to the engine harness of the 90 N/A engine and install in the '86 GL

I think i have this straight.....only talking about the 86 GL now.

Currently it has a 1990 non-turbo ej22 with the 1990 engine harness. Is that correct?

Where does the engine harness end? Are you just referring to the harness on the engine, and it has the three square plugs where the battery sat?

If so, you're still going to run into issues because the 92 chassis harness, which needs to plug into the 90 engine harness has different shape plugs for the engine harness to plug into.

Or am I still not fully understanding what you've swapped and what you're calling the "engine harness"...?

You have it correct. Just in case things get difficult I have the entire 92 engine and chassis harness all connected as I'm thinning it out.

Would it be easier to take the turbo equipment out and install it as a complete setup? Can someone introduce me to ecu and wiring pinouts for both years just in case?

I'd use the entire 92 harness, engine & chassis. Take out what you don't need, ie turbo wiring.

Here's info on both
