Is it possible to seperate the block with the crank sprocket and oil pump still on the motor? My crank and sprocket and i think what is called as the keystone is all mangled up which is holding the sprocket in place.
I wanted to split the block then replace it with another crank i have for my rebuild.

Yeah, all you would have to do is remove the bolts that hold the oil pump onto the block as they would prevent you from being able to seperate the case halves.

hmm...did all that. I'll try again. It didn't look like it wanted to seperate over there.

You can just tap the holes in the sprocket for a puller of some sort. I had to do just that on an EJ257 with a bad woodruff key, and my steering wheel puller worked perfectly.

The oil pump is pinned. If your certain that all the other bolts are out, you will still need to get the pump about 1/4" off the block.
This most likely means you need to remove (or partially remove) the timing sprocket anyways.

thats what i did.
yes, there are pins on the oil pump, but im not sure if you'll get enough free play to move the oilpump far enought away to disengage the pins.
