Well, I did it. I got a 1994 Audi UrS4/Q. It's black, it's pretty fast and it's fun. It is not mint though so, it is now my new project. I hope to build it up to around 450 chp, currently might be 300+ chp. I am going to get it dynoed at some point for a baseline. Hopefully, the next time I visit my friend is DC. It is sooooooo nice to experience boost again. It's been too long.
Mod list, that I know of:
AAN 2.2 20VT
RS2 injectors
AFPR
RS2 Exhaust Manifold (external wastegate)
Apikol large FMIC
Samco hoses
Tial BOV
A/C Delete
High output coil kit
034 Motorsports Stage 1+ chip set (22psi)
Autometer Phantom Boost Gauge in A-pillar
Short throw shifter (this might be stock but it is very short)
Bilstein sport shocks
H&R Lowering Springs
BBS RF wheels 16x8 with 245/45 ZR16 Sumitomo tires
Euro Headlights (Hella)
Euro Tails
LLTek front bumper
De-badged
Jensen DVD/CD/XM/iPod player with touch screen lcd
Bose speakers
Tinted windows
That's about it that I know of. There a couple things on the car that I have no idea what they are for and neither did the seller. One is an aftermarket toggle switch in the dash, and the other is a weird illuminated push button thing on a wire that comes out of the dash under the stereo by the iPod docking wire for the stereo. It has on off and illuminates blue for on and red for off. WTF? Doesn't seem to do anything but it has power. The toggle switch doesn't seem to do shit that I can tell. I am thinking the guy that built the car had a map/boost level selector hooked to the toggle switch earlier or something.
Anyways, just wanted to share and pics coming soon.

Smoke screen? Oil slick? Did you watch to see if anything happened to the following cars?
What I have thought of doing too many times, but have only written about instead because I'm too lazy, is add switches to shut off reverse lights and taillights. I can't be the only nut job out there, so maybe check the lights when you flip the switch.
It's a nice looking car. Good luck with it.

You're not. I've actually done it to two of my cars in the past, that's brake, tail, reverse, blinkers and licence plate lights.

i see you decided to pull the trigger, very nice! any idea on how much power its putting down?
you might want to chase the wires to those switches to verify they don't have anything to do with boost or something else that could kill the engine.

Not real sure of the power as this car is heavy, throws my butt dyno off. lol
The chip set that I believe is on the car is good for 220 awhp and 250 awtq. That is on a 100% stock UrS4 though and mine has a lot of additional mods like injectors, large FMIC, AFPR, AC Delete etc.... Plus my car is hitting 2 psi (22-23 psi) higher then the chipset is supposed to do on the high side and 1-2 psi more on the roll off at redline (15-16 psi). I think that the car has a baseline 034 stage 1+ chip set and that they did a custom map for the additional mods. That's a guess though.
So, my guess is maybe around 250-260 awhp and 280-290 awtq. I want to get it dynoed sometime soon though and then I will know for sure.....
Steve- Oil slick would be cool. haha.
Nick, that would be sweet! I want either a 4000S or a coupe too. Just found a '89 200 turbo but it's an auto so, I will probably pass although the price is right at $2800.....

Best part of oil slick or smoke screen with an Audi is that nobody would think it was intentional!

200's would be cool cars if they weren't such pieces of junk(not the drivetrain).

That's funny...my Audi doesn't leak oil or make a smokescreen...
Don't be jealous of Matt's Grp B engine

Is the LC getting old? Audis, really? Well, they do ride smoother, and have nicer interiors, and better stereos systems, and more airbags.
Ha! Fogeys!

Damn now i wish I took a pic of a A4 on the way home on the side of the road with blueish smoke coming out of everything. Might be on the news, yet its not really a first

I have always loved old Audi's. I had a roomate that had a 4000S and it was fun as shit. We worked at Willamette Pass in OR and commuted in that everyday. There is this one straight stretch near Oakridge and we passed 33 cars and 4 buses in one shot at about 90 mph on snow pack.
Old? Maybe, I will be 35 this May. I still love the subies though, have two. I am really digging this Audi though. It's cosmetically nicer all around then any Subaru I have ever had and I hope to get an Audi C/Q soon too.

Newer Audi turbos are not very reliable. That and in the 2.7 TT, when the turbos blow up, (happens a lot) you have to pull the motor to replace them...... How stupid is that?
The older Audi are much more reliable, yeah, they may have quarkie electrical system or switches and stuff but the drive trains are solid. Plus, I have seen my fair share of Subies on the side of the road too and know a lot of people that have had problems. Hell, my '07 was having weird issues at start up and turned out to be a loose wiring harness from the factory..... My old SS had some major electrical issues with sensors and stuff not working right, leaking sunroof, bad door locks, power antenna that didn't work right so, let's not have the pot call the kettle black guys.
Oh, and I can run upwards of 500 hp on my S4 without having to even ponder my tranny having issues......... That's comforting considering I blew 3 trannies in 9 months in my SS before I finally had to let the car go (car or wife, should have kept the car).
I am not slamming Subies at all, I LOVE THEM ( at least the older ones), but I get sick of all the negativity towards Audi as a whole when they have some real gems out there like the UrS4/S6, the 4000S, the coupes etc... Plus, I think I would rather have a NEW Audi, then a NEW Legacy or Impreza at this point. The new Subarus are frickin ugly as sin and the build quality is suffering too. Unless it was an STI or maybe a Tribeca, I personally wouldn't want a new Subaru.....

Yup, build quality for sure.
I dont care if all the B5 S4's I've been looking at have 100k on the clock, and the turbos have issues. Wouldn't be the first motor Ive yanked, and how the whole core support comes off actually makes it pretty easy.
The Quattro is a true all wheel drive, and the B5 S4 6mt is a 40/60 split to the rear with a Torsen center diff, four link suspension, forged internals, brakes......Nice friggin interior. $500 bones on a chip is 75hp 100tq on the TT too which would put a stock motor with no other mods close to 300hp.
That UrS4 looks really nice, and I'm still waitin for the under bonnet shots!

Good point about the newer models.
Personally, I wouldn't own a newer
anything. But if the choice was between a new Audi or a new Subaru, it'd be a Lotus, hands down.

Nice Kelly. I love the styling of the newer S4's. If you can, get the 4.2L V8 version, those are sweet! I'll try to get pics up soon, x-mas has me running crazy so, it will probably be after....
There is an easy fix if you go with the 2.7TT. Go with bigger aftermarket turbos and a chipset. Problem solved.......
*Supporting mods required when upgrading turbos and chipset on a 2.7TT, don't flame me people*

Reliability with everything has fallen in the last 10 years or so. I don't know the old Audis (beyond the one my "father" had when I was a kid, which I liked)—my hatred starts with the 1.8T and the corresponding VWs.
I'm with epicfail—the Lotus Elise and Evora are the only two new cars that I'd buy, that I think are intelligent and interesting (much of that down to the lack of weight and the corresponding driving experience and efficiency). Strangely, the only other cars I find interesting, even if they're not my type of cars at all (being mostly overweight and oversized) are American! Never thought I'd say that. Japan has utterly deserted me.
