Plugging the front crankcase vent....OK?

I am building a 2.35L DOHC frankenmotor and ran into interferance between the crossover pipe form a STi and the front crankcase vent on the ej22t block.

I was thinking of plugging the vent with a freeze plug. I have had friends that did this on 2.5L STi hybrid motors and are running fine...but I'm a little more paranoid with my build.

Can deleting this vent cause any problems? I know the 2.0L WRX motors don't have this vent at all. The DOHC heads I am using only have one breather fitting on them.

It should be fine since you are using those heads.

Yup...the one under the alternator. Good to hear there should be no problems...should clean up the clutter a bit.

i believe it's purpose is to even out crankcase pressure with the pressure in the heads. it doesnt run to the intake anywhere. take a look at the wrx and sti setup to see if the back line is the same as ours, maybe there's are different?
