EDM Headlight Score

Ebay Germany FTW! Search for "scheinwerfer" & "Subaru BJ" or similar, most list the build codes in the ads, & the BJ wagon seems the most prevalent car there.

20 Euros for a set of EDM facelift headlights... :P Plus E.65 for shipping  but oh well, still a good buy.
The hardest part is finding a seller that's willing to ship to N. America, & takes Paypal. Ask before you bid!

Thanks for the tip also!

In theory, based on ciper's comments below, you can use these links to search.

Frontscheinwerfer.
Scheinwerfer.
Stirnleuchte.
Vorderlicht.

Courtesy of farfrumwork - part numbers are 84004AA200 and 84004AA210 for the 92-94MY.

Did you have to register for eBay Germany, or can you use your eBay US info?

No, you can use your regular info... but you'll usually have to sign in separately, even when you link from your watch list in Ebay here as they're different websites.

The tabs are mostly identical, so if you've got zero German, you can still figure out what you're doing. Google translator helps with the text of ads, or just paste the url into it and translate the whole page. My experience is that they prefer you post your questions in good English rather than bad German, which is mostly what you get from a translator page...

Also look around for interesting interior bits, particularly the headlight leveler switches, front & rear foglight, and headlight washer switches, etc. Even if you never wire it for use, they look better than blanking plates. They also got some nice single-DIN stereo openings, with built-in clock and antenna switch, but you lose your cupholder using that.

Unless you're familiar with Xoom.com for wire transfers, stick with sellers that take Paypal... it's catching on more over there.

I also just realized that the "BJ" I was seeing all the time is "Bis Jahre" referring to the year of the vehicle  not the BJ code of the wagon...

Check out this "Turbo Kombi". High roof, Leather interior, 5-spd & intercooled 2.0(?) Look at the redline on the tach... Turbocharged LSi, basically... They got nicer cars than we did. Like everyone else.

If you are too restrictive with the terms there are some missed items. I suggest searching the following
legacy (Frontscheinwerfer, Scheinwerfer, Stirnleuchte, Vorderlicht)
and then sort through the results manually. I found the following

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 0243019846

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 0512163829

Ok, thanks for the update Aerotech! That's good to know.

I like the leather heated seats in the wagon!

Another thing to remember is that they got the facelift a year earlier; a '91 EDM/JDM etc is a facelift car with the new-style headlights. Check the pics carefully if no mfg date is listed. '89-90 is pre-facelift.

I'm going to find a set of prefacelift lights for my car if it takes me the rest of my life. Or this cars life. And I'm not paying $300 for them!

That's good to know too, about the model years that are acceptable.

Thanks again Aerotech!

Good luck Kimo!
