Quick WG Solenoid Question

I'm now getting into tuning my car - I fired her up Tuesday and she runs
- but I still have a couple of loose ends I need to tie up before I actually get on the street and really start the tuning process.
One of these items is the wastegate solenoid operation. When I was cleaning up my engine bay I got rid of the connector for the solenoid thinking I wouldn't need it. I don't need it but I do need the ECU to think it's there. I kept the factory drop down resistor, car was originally an auto.
My current plan is just to tie the drop down resistor into the wastegate solenoid wiring. I have the pin from the ECU and I've clipped and ear-marked the wire. I have the schematic and pinout for the TCU going to the drop down resitor.
My simple question is - does the ECU ground the solenoid or does it send a positive voltage to it?
Thank you in advance for the help.
Once I have it all tuned out I'll be posting plenty of pictures and reports
. It felt sooo nice to hear her idle for the first time after 7 months of silence.
