Crankcase Vents

The tubing for the front vents that go from each head to the center of the block needs to be replaced. I was wonder do I really even need those? It already has the tubes going from each head to the intake and the crankcase to the pcv valve. Do I really need the the second set on the front of the block or can i just cap them?

Subaru seems to think you need them. Non-turbo motors don't have them, so my theory is that they're needed to make sure vapors move freely enough between the heads and the block..

Yes, you need them. It helps equalize pressure between the heads and block. I'm pretty sure the STi motors have the center vent as well.
