hi so i took my car to a shop just for them to lookl it over and diagnose the check engine light and i need a pressure exchange solenoid and pressure sensor. but i go to find the exchange solenoid and its not hooked up. well the wires are but the air hoses for it are not hooked up and cant find the hoses anyone know which hoses should hook up to it? or if you have a diagram that would be of great help. but if it is bad where can i get one at? and how much are they usually?

there are 2 nipples on the pressure exchange solenoid, the one that points up towards the hood goes to the pressure sensor, and the one that points towards the engine goes to the intake manifold.
If you need an extra set of sensors, i have both of them for sale for 100 shipped. Both work, ran them on my car for 2 weeks to make sure.

It has three. Or is one just a bleeder?

if you're saying it has three nipples, then you're probably looking at the wastegate solenoid. I can't remember off hand where all three go.

Then how does that thing hook up? That's what I have that only has two wires going into it and that's it. I dint know to much about subarus or turbo cars. This is all new to me. I've been a jeep guy. So any info you can tell me about this would be very appriated.

And also when I took it to the shop they said my wastegate solenoid is bad to. So no matter what I gotta replace those three things. So I took off that wastegate solenoid and figured it is the pressure exchange valve.

I wouldn't replace anything without further checking into things.
Likely the sensors may not be hooked up properly and codes erroneously are set. BTW, you can check the codes yourself. Instructions are on my site.

Ok my wastegate solenoid don't work and is bad. I hooked it up car wouldn't run... So does that just mean it's bad? I would really like to get my hands on a bunch of replacement parts as in engine harness wastegate solenoid pressure sensor and pressure exchange solenoid. Where could I get these? I've checked all my local bone yards and these cars are hard to find. Ik cj91legs said you ha the sensors do you also have that wastegate solenoid? Also is the wastegate solenoid valve same as a duty solenoid valve?

Oh and also I have 2 green wires under the dash I think the guy above tlkd about. But when I plug them together my wastegate solenoid ticks and my electric fans kick on and off is that normal I sure wouldn't think so. It has has 2 other wires with connectors that throw me the codes. Or should I not have two sets of connectors not hooked up? And I really appreciate all your guys help. I've been a jeep guy. And ik a good amount about them and not really any imports. so all your advise has really been helping me.

they should be clicking when you connect the green plug. i don't have the wastegate solenoid. just the map and pressure exchange solenoid.

Yeah the clicking is like a self test feature.normal.

let me know if you need those sensors tho, the map itself is like 300-400 new i think

The diagnostic connectors should normally be unhooked. If you have them connected, disconnect them unless you want to pull the codes or perform diagnostic tests.
If the wastegate solenoid is clicking, it should be fine.

Ok should the fans turn on too when I plug that green wire in? And are the sensor and exchange valve new? If not how old are they? And thanks so much for all the help everyone it's helping me a lot.

Josh man I love your legacy it's nice. I really like the font mount intercooler. How did you do it? Or did you buy piping then do it? Once I fix all my problems (which is seeming like a lot) I wanna do the front mount intercooler. I have the top mount but the front mount looks mean.

Yes the fans will cycle on and off too. The green diagnostic connectors are meant to help test/diagnose relays by cycling them on and off.
Thanks for the comments on my Legacy. That is actually a radiator/heat exchanger. I've got an air-to-water intercooler setup with a custom front exchanger and pump. Here's the thread with more info and pictures.

I had the exchanger made to fit the area I had to work with. It turned out very well. I think end tanks with a rounded edge would match the front end a little better, but that's minor.

Oh ok well sweet. It looks good. And you kno how hard it is to put a front mount intercooler on one of these cars?

It requires some cutting of things. I'd suggest searching the intercooling forum as there has been others that have done that mod.

FMIC is alot of work, but worth it if you are getting a good kit.

Oh ok. Darn. So ok my wastegate solenoid is bypassed I read something about that being bypassed for turbo controller is that true?

yes it is bypassed, but i think it still needs to see boost. so one of your vacuum lines still has to go to it. that's the line coming off the compressor side (Aluminum side.) that line that goes to the wastegate solenoid needs a "T" in it, then the "T" goes to your MBC

Which hose would have to go to it then? And which one of the 3 holes?
