http://legacycentral.org/library/literature/codes.htm = starter.

Either follow the FSM (posted in the stuff you need to know forum) to replace the starter switch... or just replace the whole starter.

Is the check engine light on all the time with this code, or did it blip on and then go off?

There's really not anything to the starter code. If the car starts, the starter is probably fine. You may have a wiring issue on the lead coming from the starter to the ECU.

I'd suggest resetting the ECU and see if the code comes back.

The light was on for about a mile after I pulled the code then the light went out till I played in some puddles then it was on again so I pulled the same code, light went out like normal after start-up and I drove home and haven't driven since then.

The wiring shows that it is routed through the inibitor switch. so there may be an exposed wire going to the inibitor switch or coming from the starter that may be causing the problem....or it could be a loose wire in the starter.
