Car and track list

No BC, no e30 m3, no Seattle Circuit, WTF!

I'll still be skeptical of this though until I have the game in my hands.

Is this the real deal? I bought Prologue thinking it was that, and only played it a little and didn't like it. It seemed like it had lost some of its real handling characteristics to me...

Yay, 40 Skylines (again). So many of they're 1000 plus cars are redundant that its plain silly. They could have 400 and have essentially the same selection.

I'll have to wait and see if its as realistic as Forza... I remember GT4 didn't do certain things like factory LSDs properly, and collision physics needed a long way to go (not talking about damage, but realistic force transfer to the tires and changing the vehcile's speed and direction). I heard its way better, I might actually get a PS3 for it if its as good as they say.

Yeah they have a bunch of cars that are just different colors and stuff and they're calling it a different car.

I also noticed they brought back the Dodge Ram Hemi Quad Cab. Presumably it's still a 4x4 like in GT4. PLEASE tell me it behaves more like an actual 4x4 system not full-time AWD? Buying a $10,000 racing transmission to get an adjustable center diff to get 70% RWD is just retarded. Do the makers even know how 4x4 works? Hint: you wouldn't use it on a race track... Let us switch to 2-hi! Since they don't have sense enough to give us the Ram SRT-10 which has an AWD system designed for track use....

Yea, Prologue was just to tide us over, they do that with every GT, Prologue was just the first one we got in the states. You should try playing in professional mode though, the cars drive a lot different.

And yea the car list is the biggest disappointment to me, I can't complain about the 50 Skylines, that's expected, and really it doesn't take much work for them to slap a new vinyl and wheels on the car, Realistically though there's probably closer to 5-600 actual cars.

I'm still excited for it though, no matter how you look at it, it's still bigger than any other racing game, even if they blow some of it out of proportion. And personally I don't like Forza much at all.

Here's a list of all 1031 cars included apparently. I'm more of a forza guy myself, but cool beans.

The Ram SRT-10 is RWD.

I agree, the GT5 car list is wildly bloated with very similar vehicles. Some of them are just different market model names for the same car. There's also a bunch of obscure junk that won't be fun to drive. If you search the name of a car and the first page of results relates only to GT5, that probably shows how much people don't care about that car. Who's excited for 16 Daihatsus?
