ACL race bearing info:

Post by logan9691 »

So I finally bought new engine internals but I'm still stuck on bearings. I want ACL race bearings, but ACL also offers standard sized bearings with a .001" extra oil clearance. Has anyone ever run these bearings and do you think they would be ok to run for a daily driver car?

thanks for the input,

Logan

I am/will be running ACL race bearings. I can't comment on the extra clearance bearings. They may use more oil due to the extra clearance, which may cause a slight decrease in oil pressure. You could upgrade to the STi 11mm oil pump and likely make up for an decrease in pressure/increase in flow.

The above comment is just theoretical. I really couldn't tell you how much if any extra oil could be used by going with the extra clearance.
