Where did it go?

I'm a new member with a '93 Sport Sedan Auto,

Just before christmas i had my water pump and timing belt changed.Eversince, i've been having problems with the engine and tranny. The engine has no low end torque at all and between 2800 and 3400 RPM the engine seems to hesitate between getting boost or not. On top of that, the tranny seems to shift too early so i get alot of loss of power and acceleration. Could it only be the lack of power from the engine that gives me that feeling?

I was wondering if changing the fuel filter will help me? I ran a D check and I don't have any ECU codes other than 51 Inhibitor switch.

I don't know what to do, The car ran really well before going in to the shop and ever since i got it back...i've lost 2-3 seconds off my acceleration times.

My guess would be that the timing belt was not installed correctly. Specifically, the camshaft timing is probably off.

i had gone back and they checked the timing again and told me it was ok. I guess i'll have to go somewhere else to have it checked.

could it be something else?

I agree. I also think its the timing belt. I had the same situ. I let subaru work on my car, the got the timing off by 1 tooth. It made a difference.
It is tricky to get it right.

finally i took it to the dealer, It turns out my timing was ok.

It was my pressure exchange solenoid valve that was stuck. Put in a little brake cleaner and the power magically came back. I also changed my fuel filter.

hope this helps someone,
