Welcome to the BBS James.
If all you're looking to do is swap over the motor, then it really shouldn't matter what transmission type you have. In the states, the non-turbo & turbo engine harnesses are more or less the same. You just want to match up the engine harness with the chassis you have.
What I would question on your GX would be is does it use a coil pack for the ignition, or does it have coil on plug like the RS does, and is the ignition wiring separate from the engine harness or is it part of the engine harness.
Depending on what you're wanting to do and what you have, there's a couple options. If you can provide some additional details on whether you're looking to swap just the motor or swap the entire harness and motor, and what the current ignition setup is like, that will help.

Simple, grab a 5 or 6MT tranny and swap it in at the same time. Would be the best time to do so, cause lets be honest, anyone who likes auto simply just can't drive stick
Problem solved

hey well here is the story my na ej22 has blown a headgasket so i bought a ver5 wrx ej20t to put in but to get my wiring spliced and to get a wrx gearbox will cost me alot of money so i was trying to put this rs engine in till i can save to get mr wrx engine sorted.
my gx has a coil pack ontop of the manifold with that is made up of 2 coil packs 1 for each side.
and i am trying to put the whole rs harness in with the rs motor just wasnt sure if it would run with my auto as it is a manual harness.
thanks for the replys james.

James,
Are you looking to swap the entire chassis harness from the RS or just the engine harness? What ECU are you looking to run, your GX or the RS? If you're planning to run the RS motor as a turbo motor, you're going to need the RS ECU, and that's going to require some form of wiring splicing/addition. I hate to say it, but doing that is opening a can of worms because of the ignition differences and then either trying to merge the two harnesses or swapping the GX engine harness onto the RS, and then adding wiring for the ignition. Either way, it's going to require some custom wiring to make it all work. Which in my mind, is very similar to what you're wanting to do with the WRX engine.
