Heater core swap

Any guides for this?
I've read about people cutting the plenum box open to save $$$, is this an option?

I'd like to bypass the core for now, need my car for my job and a new core is
1-2 days out, don't trust one from a '94-'95 from the local salvage yard

Bottom line is swapping the heater core out sucks and requires removing the dash. I just don't see any other short cut around it. You can easily bypass the core if you need to have the car operational for a little bit while you wait for a new one.

Bypassed yesterday, but it looks like someone cut into the firewall before above the core... strange
maybe it was done at the factory, the seams look somewhat professional
anyways, since my scoob is RHD, the core is tailored as such and requires coming from another similar model
or from Subaru directly - $270 ... ouch. Thank God winter is almost over huh
