Hey hows it goin, I recently bought a 92 ss and love it, but it recently developed a few problems because the previous owner was one of those mechanics who left stuff alone til it broke. So i'm still in school for mechanics but i know somewhere i have an exhaust leak and i need help finding it. during acceleration i hear air rushing like a hissing noise. It's super annoying and i really wanna get it fixed, I absolutely love the sound of the car and just want it to run right. It's either the intake or the up pipe i think. Shed some light on this for me? :(
Thx

Welcome to the BBS.

Do you hear a pulsing sound or is a constant hissing? Does it only happen when you are in boost, or any time you're accelerating?

constant hissing when i accelerate, and it only happens when enough throttle is applied to bring out of vacuum and into boost, starting at around 1 or 2 pounds of boost...

Are you sure it's not a boost leak, rather than an exhaust leak?

If you're pretty sure it's an exhaust leak I'd start by looking around the exhaust flanges for a leaking/blown gasket. You may also want to just take a look at the intake piping and where the intake mates to the heads to eliminate a boost leak possibility.
