going into a 94 turbo wagon
looking to run 2.5 3 inch stainless pipe with a resonator, not sure what size to go with or shape, and a magnaflow universal muffler or other brand universal muffler. Looking for a smooth loud sound, don't want a raspy sound but still want something pretty loud.
input appreciated

Go with a 3" turbo back. Installation of a resonator helps eliminate drowning, and any performance muffler should make it all sound pretty nice.

Whatever size your piping is. I have a 3" resonator in mine. Just got whatever I found on summitracing.com Or maybe it was JEGS. I think it was summit though. Also put a 3" hi flow cheap $40 ebay cat but that was just in case I move to a county that does emissions testing.

more specifically, what size diameter resonator, i guess three inch inlet and outlet. i have trying to gain a understanding of the effect on the exhaust note if a put a resonator with a circular resonator with a circumference of 11inches round.

I had my exhaust custom made except the downpipe. I run a 3" bellmouth downpipe and a single piece 3" cat back with a 10" long resonator welded in. I had a black turbo Hooker muffler laying around that I used and welded on a 3" chrome tip on the end. Nice mellow tone at idle and plenty loud at wide open throttle, I love how it turned out it's not raspy at all and has a good deep solid sound to it. I'll try to get a video of it up for you soon
