hey guys i have a 92 leggy turbo automatic. i bought a 99 wrx type ra close ratio tranny that has a 4.44 viscous diff. That means i need a 4.44 rear diff right. for those who has done a 4.44 swap do i need rear axles too or will our stock axles work with 4.44 rear diffs?
ive been researching a few sites but i cant find anything about our leggys thanks guys appreciate the help

I'm pretty sure the 4.444 diff uses male axles meaning the diff does not have axle stubs like the 1st gen legacy's have so yes you would need the axles that go with the 4.444 diff.

The rear axles will be the same length. Subaru started using longer axles in the WRX sedan starting in 2002. You'll be fine with the older stuff.
Easiest way to source a 4.44 diff will be from an automatic Subaru Forester. You can swap the entire diff or just the ring and pinion.

You need to be added to the build journals group. If you would like to start a build journal, send me a pm.
