Hi all-I've got a 91 Legacy Turbo that has developed some shacking/looseness. If I am turning right or hit a bump the car/steering wheel shakes and feels really loose but turning left it seems to be fine. I've checked Tie Rod ends, ball joints and they're tight. Any other ideas?
Maybe a bad strut?
Thanks!

Sounds similar to my current problem. Bad struts and a bad lower control arm bushing are my cause. I would suggest checking both on your car!

I also had the same kind of problem, but it was my steering coupler that connects my steering colum to my steering rack. I think it might also me called a flux coupler??? I'm not sure.

what about a wheel bearing? did you check those?
Jack up the front, grab the top of each tire and shake it in and out, if it moves at all you should look at replacing the wheel bearing or whole hub assembly. Replacing the whole hub is easier than having a new bearing pressed, but a new bearing would definately keep your mind at ease

Have you checked the steering rack bushings?
