rev limiter

for some reason i can redline in 1st and 2nd but not 3rd are 4th dunno about 5th but 1st 7000rpm 2nd 7000rpm on tach then 3rd and 4th 5500rpm then it drops probly no good on the motor so could it be like a rev limiter are is it a mehcanicle problem idk its not that big of a deal but would still like to know why its like that my 93ss didnt do it so if any body knew what was wrong are if its normal for the 92 idk thanks

the limiter in these cars is 6500rpm
if its an auto it will only rev to about 6200 is im not mistaken

yea probly but it bogs i tried today and it now jerks then go up maybe its the fuel i put 91 but idk what the preveous owner ran in it but hopefully it cleans it self out but it doesnt seem as fast as my other motor and all i know is that it had an intake and 255 walbro fuel pump so i have 255walbro fuel pump 440s td04 intercooler but none is hooked up im probly gunna put the td04 the fuel pump and intercooler next month and should i put the 440s in are do i need somthing else to run them

also its a 5mt

The stock ECU rev limiter should be set for 6,500 rpm. If you're going above that, the reading may be off or the ECU isn't catching it quick enough due to the quick acceleration in the lower gears. Try resetting the ECU and see if that changes things.

ok thanks ill do that and also ill probly maybe get some cleaner too
