Advice Needed from (for!) Newbie

Yes this engine is a turbo, and I think Dave C's reply concerning the
automatic transmission is right on (he thinks it's at the mileage
where a rebuild may be eminent). That is one of the main reasons I
hesitate to have any further work done on this vehicle. What is a
ballpark figure for a tranny rebuild? I guess while I was at it I
would need at least the rear struts replaced,too! I'm still thinking
it over, any further ideas would be welcomed....
