newbie advice and wagon pics

One or two more things for the newbie. Make sure any engine or trans you get
is a turbo engine and turbo trans. The US Legacy Turbo 2.2 engine is
different from any other US Subaru engine on the inside where it counts. The
normally aspirated N/A 1.8, 2.2, and 2.5 engines are NOT the same as the
turbo engine. Neither is the Engine Control Unit (ECU) Likewise, the auto
tranny that came with the turbo is NOT the same as the auto tranny on the
normally aspirated engines, nor is the separate Transmission Control Unit
(TCU). HOWEVER, the 2.2 turbo auto trans is similar and may be the same as
the auto trans used on the even more rare SVX 3.3 liter six cylinder Subaru
sports car that pushed about 300 horses, so that might give you a litter
wider search pattern. If given a choice I would say do a rebuild. Dave, as
for pics of my wagon, you don't want them. My wagon is a stone cold stock
dark red car that is indistinguishable from any other 92 Legacy wagon except
for the hood scoop, the practically invisible "TURBO" emblem on the tailgate,
and maybe the factory turbo wheels.
Thanks anyway for the invite. Larry Witherspoon.
