EJ20G timing components ?

I'm pretty sure I can reference a 96 Outback for the belt and pulleys and a 92 Lego SS for water pump and tensioner. Can anyone confirm? I pulled my 89 EJ20G apart today and that's the basics I need so far. The toothed pulley next to the water pump siezed and tossed the belt. With any luck, I can just reset everything and put on a new belt and such. But I reckon a compression test would help, too.

Hope you're lucky on that one and you still have compression. ;)

I have no real world experience with the EJ20G but I am pretty sure the only difference between any DOHC and SOHC timing setup is the belt length. All sprockets/pulleys and the tensioner should be the same between any Phase 1 block. I know this is true for the EJ25D/EJ22 setups and there's no reason that rule wouldn't also apply to the EJ20G.

All the idler pullies will be the same, and the turbo water pump will work. Does the 89 have an oil cooler? If so, you'll need the water pump from a 91 turbo legacy.

As mentioned in your other thread the DOHC motors are most likely valve to valve interference. So you may want to check compression on cranking before trying to start it.q
