dead sunroof advice sought

After a year of intermittent operation that required a sharp tap rearwards on
the leading edge while pressing the switch to get my sunroof to close, looks
like it's finally given up on me. Never had any trouble opening, just
closing. Finally had to crank it shut with the allen wrench. Took lots of
pressure and lots of turns to wind shut, but it was smooth, no sticking.
Feels like all that pressure must have been 100:1 gear ratio, and I assume I
was plugged right into the motor right above the access hole in the center of
the roof. Anyway, has anyone else had to deal with this problem? What
hassle am I looking at? Also, has anybody heard there is a one time free
dealer fix for the rubber strip around the sunroof which seems to be
defective and permit leakage during hard rain? Sssoon

Mine's got a broken piece on the right side that keeps it from
closing without a lot of tweaking, so i usually just pop it up.

This week has been very, very wet, and my sunroof leaks when it
rains, so i'm very interested if anyone has any information about a
free Subaru fix for the sunroof seal.

Hi guys,
Want mine? I have one to give away to anyone who pays the shipping on it or
comes and picks it up. BTW, anyone want front seats from my car?

Hell, I'll come pick up spare sunroof parts if you've got 'em -
I've got the same broken bit on the right side that keeps popping up so I
can't close the damn thing.

I'm in BC, too. :)

So If all you jokers live here in the Northwest (myself included) - why
aren't we all down in Oregon right now watching the rally? :o)

I couldn't go because I'm out of work right now so I can't justify that sort
of thing... :o\

I didn't respond fast enough for the seats, but if no one comes to pick them
up I definitely will make the voyage north from Seattle for them! Are they
free? Like I said I'm taking it easy on the checkbook these days...?

I finished the break bleeding job last weekend. However now my car dies/runs
roughly when I lean into the gas pedal. I'm sure the events are unrelated,
as this situation has been developing gradually for a few months. If anyone
has an idea let me know. I have a bad feeling I might have done something
poor to the engine when I changed the belts a while back. I might be doing
the engine upgrade a little earlier than I'm prepared to (eek!). First
things first, I need a J.O.B.

Let me know about the seats. If I think about it, I'll ask later to see if
anyone picked them up.

Actually, I WAS THERE, AND IT KICKED MUCH A$$!!!

Here's a good summary: Lots of Lancer Evolutions; lots of REAL WRXs, and
amazingly, lots of SNOW! it was a blast! Subaru was out there officially
giving out hotdogs and posters, Mitsubishi RalliArt guys were there from
around the world (i talked with a guy from Spain!)... And to Top it all
off... T. Yamada, the president of STi, was there!!!!

Oh man... I hope my pictures came out!

Jason
