1994 legacy N/A valve cover gaskets

hello all. quik qustion i couldnt find the answer on. i have a 1994 legacy n/a 2.2 . are the valve cover gaskets replaceable without pulling the motor? thanks for all the past help and future.

With your SOHC heads it is not only possible, but kind of easy! You can even do HG's in the car with that motor as well.

Seconding what he said. I actually replaced the headgasket on my NA legacy on a sheet of ice in the middle of a parking lot at night in January in northern Michigan when my rally car headgasket blew up after two stages. Was able to replace it and was back on the stages the next day. :D

That combined with the non-interference design of the engine is why I rather love these engines for racing. The timing belt skipped the night before that race on the way to the hotel. Had it fixed and running again within an hour or two. Try doing that with a 2.5L DOHC engine. :wink:
