i know a few of you guys on here use the jdm wrx motors

i bought snowjobs legacy with a jdm 96 wrx motor in it. It is having some issues when getting into boost so i have heard coilpacks could play a role. So i bought 02 wrx coilpacks, reading on rob's DIY swap that they would work

here is the difference in bolts that i am having issue with

Image

that is an 02 wrx motor

and this is what my motor looks like (similar)

so i have one bolt on the new coilpacks and two bolts on the old....

The two bolt coils are early DOHC Legacy heads.

There is a chance you can carefully grind down the coils to fit, however most of the folks (Aussies) who upgraded coils used outboard coils and short leads to the plugs.
