Yes troops, I have checked out that article, printed, highlighted, annotated,
and supplemented it.

I sent the link to Dave Northrup who is bogged down with an air-to-water
installation in hopes it would answer some of his questions. It gave
specific answers to some of mine.

I also now suspect the electrical wiring from the top of the Subaru
air-to-water cooler is a temp sensor for the intercooler water pump, which
the article said has two speeds. Can anybody out there verify?

And is anyone out there overseas willing and able to score me a "pre-owned"
Subaru intercooler water pump, and/or the ducting that connects the turbo to
the cooler, and the cooler to throttle body, for a reasonable profit margin,
or at least put me in touch with a recycler that has the goodies?

The electrical connection you speak of on top of the intercooler - is not on mine,
ie.1992 RS Turbo Liberty, Australia. Is the connection actually on the intercooler itself? It could well be a water level indicator, apparently some of the NZ spec cars had an intercooler warning light, for water level.
As far as i know there is actually no temp sensor. The pump does have two speeds. I can tell at night when the pump goes into high speed due to the dash/headlights dimming ever so slightly. It is activated on how far open the throttle is.
I am going to get a scanner next couple of weeks, i could scan the section of my workshop manual on the intercooler, pump ,lines and wiring.
