I'm just finishing up a few things on my Impreza swap and something has been bothering me. I am running the EJ20g ecu which doesn't use the Purge Control solenoid for the fuel vapor from the charcoal canister like the EJ22t does. I don't really like the idea of just letting the vapor vent to the atmosphere, I don't want to plug it and run the risk of increasing the tank pressure. So, I planned on just using a 2 port NA charcoal canister and use the auxiliary purge valve which is vacuum actuated. I was just going to plumb it into the pipe I used as the coffee can mod as there is already a port on mine. Was just wondering if anyone had any insight into how well this will work or if there is another way to do it. Thanks

That's how the stock JDM is setup. I'm running mine that way, but I never ran the 3-port with a working PCS so I can't comment there. Does't cause excessive buildup in the tank but there is some.

Ok, sounds good. I did some searching last night on how the EJ20g evap system was setup but didn't find much, just threads on people deleting theirs but I didn't want to delete mine. Does it matter if you have the line coming from the purge valve to the motor hooked up to the intake or the nipple on the throttle body?

I think you want to have the line going from the line in the manifold, straight to the charcoal canister. Def don't want to leave the PCS in the system, even unplugged

If you're just using the vacuum actuated valve, you don't want to hook it up to the intake. Leave it hooked up pre turbo.

Ok, thats how I did it. On my resonator delete (coffee can mod), I already had a port that normally was just capped but I plugged the purge valve into it.
