hi there i have a 93 turbo wagon. recently looked at a 91 turbo manual parts car and the guy told me $350 for everything i need for the swap. sounds like a great deal. ive got a pretty good understanding of whats needed for the swap heres my list of what i think i need to grab. please tell me anything ive missed. i have searched!!

-tranny, with clutch and flywheel.
-tranny crossmember
-rear diff
-full pedal assembly with console and shift knob/boot
- shifter assembly
-clutch master cylinder
-every bolt, nut, pin, spring that comes off put into marked zip lock bags

thats my basic list. now should i get the ecu? 5 speed gauge cluster?
use existing drive shaft? any wires i need to grab?

i know im probably not ready to take this on alone but i have great friends who have better knowledge than me. i just cant justify passing on this deal. especially when the difference between a 5 peed turbo and auto turbo is night and day. i appreciate any help i get from those who take the time to reply.

Dshaft on the auto is longer so grab the manual one or at least the 1/2 that goes into the tranny as that's what is different between them. Look through josh's swap (Legacy777) he's got "The List" all recorded and documented

The '91 was the only year w/the VLSD rear diff. It IS labeled, so double-check it. If not, don't bother as you don't need it. All '91-'94 turbo legacys were 3.90 FD ratio - sedan/wagon/auto/5-speed.

If you want the Cruise to work you'll need the computer for it. Should be on the passenger side, behind the plastic cover.

okay thanks. ive looked through joshes write up and parts list. hes got so much stuff im not worried about. i just want my car manual as easy as possible. dont want cruise. he mentions snipping a wire on the ecu to tell its a 5 speed. is it easier to snip the wire or put the 5 speed ecu in? he had a lot of trouble installing the pedals on the 90 cuz it didnt have the bolt holes. will the 93 wagon i have have the same holes for the pedals as the 91? thanks guys

-All turbo ECU's are the same for the the wagon, sedan, 5-speed and Automatic.
-Snipping the wire is easy; removing the ECU is a PITA....but you may need to do it anyway to confirm you're getting the correct wire.
- The '90 doesn't have the hydraulic pedal holes; it does have the cable. I would "guess" that the wagon has the same firewall as the sedan in '93, which means it will have the necessary holes...Search on here as many have done this swap. FWIW, the cable clutch I installed was easy and was not much more effort than the hydraulic's.

I'd suggest the one thing you don't need is the clutch inhibitor hooked up - the car will start with or w/out the clutch depressed. Otherwise, I'd follow Josh's write-up so you're not fighting/dealing w/other issues later.
