Apexi AVCR install

So I had a little trouble at first trying to install this because of the age and if you did come across a link it was no longer available. However the search button proved mightier than the question. I decided I would make another install thread that would actually have all the info on one page.

Well it was a pretty easy install for the most part, still haven't hooked up the boost controller because I want to find out what to do with my stock setup. The wiring can be a little scary at first but if you take your time and do the research it will all work out.

Vehicle specific wiring diagram
ECU pinouts
Manual
AVC-R tuning

Now, on the Apexi wiring diagram you will notice they don't have the EJ22T ECU, but Josh has confirmed as well as I have since I did the install on a USDM EJ22T ECU that they are the same between the EJ20G. Only problem I ran into was for the ground the pin labeled to use for the ground was not there on my harness (B48.22). However there are 2 Control system grounds so I used the other one that existed (B48.11).

Another thing you will notice is whether to use the purple wire for RPM or Injector signal. I used the RPM because I had found out someone else used that with no issues.

Install:
1-Disconnect battery!
2-Remove knee panel
3-Route the harness from the cabin into the engine however you like
4-Since I have an auto I had to unbolt the TCU (2 nuts) so I could have more room to work with.
5-Disconnect the plugs from the ECU so you have more room to work with. Only 3 out of the 4 need to be unplugged if you are not hooking up to the injector signal.
6-I spliced my wires up and then heat shrinked.
7-Plug your ECU harness back in
8-Remount the TCU if you have an Auto
9-Find a spot for the pressure sensor and boost controller
10-Route your hoses and plug the connectors
11-Reconnect battery

I will post some pictures tomorrow and edit some things tomorrow. Tired as shit

So question I have is how to remove everything without getting codes.
I understand that the EBC can be removed and plug a dropping resistor in its place.
What about the pressure sensor?

You wont be able to remove the pressure sensor unfortunately. You'll fuel cut if you do.

I learned that the hard way when I left it disconnected once by mistake. Fuel cut comes at anything over 0psi.

Well dang that is a bummer. On the other hand I finally got the EBC "tuned". Took me a while and many hours of reading and searching but the thing pulls so hard now.

All you need is a voltage "clamp" to keep the MAP sensor from reading over 13 psi. It's really just a dummy sensor. Once the MAP sensor voltage has been clamped not to exceed a preset limit, you will no longer have fuel cut. There certainly is some risk associated with that, but that's how you would handle the pressure sensor.

-I'd like to get me another one of these someday. My car came with one when I first bought it, but stupidly, I traded it for a plx wideband :(
