This was a $1000 option on a $14000 car, don't feel bad if yours wasn't one of the .0001% whose got it. ;)

Haha but I was lucky enough to get the car with power mirrors, ac, cruise control, and something else that you had to pay more for I can't remember what it was. I just don't have the fancy ac like you

Some US models had them also. Mine was in a 91 LS w/air suspension and digital climate control. It worked good tell the car was totaled by a moose.

Yeah it was available on 90-91's only, as an option. The airbox is unique too, and there's a special flexible hose with a thermoresistor in it, going from the control unit to airbox.

Yeah, there is A LOT more electronics that go with the auto climate control control units, including a sun load sensor. So I'm not sure you can just swap out the control units and have it work.

Unfortunately Josh, we both no it can't work since there is no cable on this one. However I could hook it up and have it display a temp for fun but it would be kind of pointless haha.

Interesting. That makes 2 different styles, just for the first gen Legacy.

Dun dun duunnnnnn and the plot thickens the question becomes are there different year designs though the first gens? I would guess that that one ^ would be earlier and SIL.'s is for like 93-94?

Looking though the parts book, the only one they have shown with auto a/c is the second one posted, but it has listing for 2 different part numbers for control panels for '91 (up to June, and July on) as well as a different part # for '90 and '92. They may just be slightly different wiring-wise, but that's something to consider.....

I doubt it, but is there any kind of part number listed on the units?

that ^ is from a pre-facelift JDM Legacy.

And they had different one in post-facelift cars as well:
