Sunroof Misc.

I was scheduled to have the dealer fix my sunroof which would not always close when I wanted it to. After talking to some experts, I concluded that the culprit was probably the sunroof control unit, which costs $380 US at the dealer and is a special order part. Dealers only use new OEM parts, so I was looking at an easy $600 bill. I bought an entire sunroof at a wrecking yard for $200 and located the control unit. It is right above the head of the rear seat right side passenger. I was able to change it by taking off the plastic trim and unboltong that corner shoulder harness. My sunroof works fine now. If any of you have questions about sunroof construction, get in touch with me, as I can now see the entire mechanism of my spare sunroof..
