I did something stupid ...

While changing the gear oil in my five speed, the hose I had connected to the bottle of oil slipped off and is now stuck in the feeder tube to the tranny. Is this going to tear up the tranny? It looks to have slipped down pretty far. Is there anything directly underneath the tube that it will get caught in? Lesson learned today: use a hose that is longer than the full tube....

I would try and use a metal coat hanger or something similar that has a bent end you can put down the tube and will catch the bottom of the hose so you can remove it.

It seems to have fallen pretty far down there. I'll try a coat hanger and see where it gets me

So the metal dipstick tube is removable?

Yeah how do I go about removing the tube? It seems like it is attached inside the tranny.

If its pushed all the way in you can try draining the transmission and if it doesn't come right out its a bigger hole to try and fish it out of there.

Is it still in the tube or is it free floating in the case now?
If it's still in the tube (like a sleeve), you can take a flat head and stick it down the inner tube and while pressing against the wall of the tube with the flat head, spiral it out. If you come straight out, the screwdriver will probably just slip on the inner tube where the spiral motion will allow you to stay in contact with the inner tube better.

I tried screwdrivers and coat hangers to no avail I'm pretty sure it's floating in the case now. I shined a barrel flashlight down there and I don't see anything. I've been driving it everyday with no issues, I'm going to attempt to remove it from the bottom this weekend when I get her on stands.
